Ringtail has released its newest technology in São Paulo, Brazil:  Internet, Digital TV and VoIP to be distributed wirelessly. Imagine no fiber or cable.  The office of the Ministry of Communications in Brazil has met with Ringtail and expressed great interest in the technology.

Wireless technology is ideally suited for the Brazilian market because of the great distances between cities and the high cost of laying copper or fiber cable.

Several potential internet “partners” have been defined in the wireless cellular business, as well as digital TV and satellite communications.  Ringtail is concentrating on those prospects in the short term, but is also trying to expand the list of partners and applications within Brazil.

Today, November 8, at the Hayden Burns Library in downtown Jacksonville at 4:40 pm, a new technology start-up plans to unveil its proprietary software and hardware that will wirelessly deliver hi-speed Internet, Voice-over IP phone service and Wireless Digital TV for a third of the costs of traditional cable or satellite companies.

The recent FCC ruling releasing “white space” comes at an excellent time for the start up. Using technology it perfected in the open expanses of Belize, where infrastructure simply didn’t exist, the company plans to roll out the technology starting in Jacksonville, FL.

One of Ringtails’ first customer will be a low-income public housing complex in Jacksonville, FL, Hollybrook Homes, run by Lynn Griffin.
